Archive for September, 2008Very sleepyMonday, September 29th, 2008Started dozing at work already! Just one more hour and it’s HOME SWEET HOME for me. I do hope that Eid is tomorrow. I have lots of domestic tasks to be done and a 4-day holiday would reaaally help. Besides, I wanna go roaming with hubby too. I would love to visit places that I’ve never been to before. Hubby said that if tomorrow is Eid, he’ll take me out for dinner! Oh nummie gastronomical ruin that I just cannot resist! The bugger spoils me and I am being fattened up like a turkey to be served for Thanksgiving. I think no matter how much diet pills I drink, I’ll never loose weight at this rate *sighs*. Thing is we’re planning to have a baby and gaining weight will never help :/. Btw, 7 days more and it’s our wedding anniversary!!! Being weirdos that we are, we gave each other our anniversary gifts na. LoL. My issues…Hubby’s issues…Monday, September 29th, 2008I slept at almost 3am in the morning last night (uhm…today) trying to finish the new layout of hawt Norwegian girl’s blog. I didn’t get to finish it, because my already-finished .psd mockup was deleted, when Alizarin crapped up on us. I felt really bad because I had been keeping her waiting for a long, long time and she had been really patient with moi. Anyway I asked for extension (yet again) until October 1st and I’m going to make sure everything (including the integration with a web store plugin) is done. It seems that hubby might start playing cricket with his officemates in their Cricket Club when autumn comes (or winter, who knows). He’s been complaining of having a huge ponch now, and blaming MOI for it. What can I do if he got addicted to both my cooking and afternoon cuddles? Anyway, he’s looking for alternatives to build muscle fast…more of building his abs fast. I bet it would compliment his already nice upper body build. Laptop crapped up on hubby AGAIN!Friday, September 26th, 2008And he ain’t happy AT ALL! Poor Alizarin…Uhm…sorry, poor hubby. He actually lost about 5 seasons of downloaded TV serials and I lost some work files (VERY IMPORTANT WORK FILES) of which I was actually planning to backup today. Alizarin is fine now, hubby well…I don’t know. I have to attend the ITP-K training tomorrow! And to think I really wanna wake up late tomorrow. Oh well, it’s for a good cause. Western Union who are our sponsor, gave away promotional products (t-shirts and vests, I think, not sure). Yeah, we were featured in Arab Times And no, you won’t be able to see me in that picture (only my long black hair Ouchie! Pretty?Wednesday, September 24th, 2008I remember when my niece’s Japanese father was so upset upon finding out that his then less-than-a-year-old daughter’s ears were pierced. He said it was very cruel (of her mom) to actually do that to Arisa-chan (my niece). But then of course we just laughed about it and her mom explained that it is actually how it is done in our country since we believe that it would be easier for the girls, and less painful for them to get their ears pierced when the lower ear lobe is still very soft. As for me, I got my ears pierced when I was about eight (I think). It was a painful experience, I tell you! We just actually did it at home (in a not so hygenic process) and used some kinda special type of earrings to poke my earlobes. It took almost, every female in that house helping, about more than an hour to get my ears pierced. Talk about major ouch! I did the same process again, on my own when I was 14, but only on my right ear, just because I thought it was really kewl to have two earrings on one ear… Now, a lot of people are not only opting to have their ears pierced, but also different types of body piercing. My best-friend, got her tongue pierced when we were in college. It looked kewl on her, but I sure ain’t gonna have my tongue pierced too, thank you very much. Actually, aside from earrings, bangles, and my crosses I’m not much into wearing jewelry, specially body jewelry. I like looking at people who have them though, that is if they don’t overdo it…it would really look scary hehehe… Finally!Monday, September 22nd, 2008I had just finished shifting webhosts and it looks like all is okay. I was so sick and tired of my database server going down everyday for hours and hours and hours that I finally said “Enough! I am going to friggin shift NOW!”. And so I did. Besides, my hosting was supposed to expire next month so, there weren’t any months wasted. I just hope my new host would not give me another bunch of nightmares. Gah! It’s obvious that I spend too much time working on the PC. I’m always in front of the PC at work and I work on my site (and sometimes other’s as well), do some blogging and site-hopping at home. I know, I know…it isn’t healthy to sit on my ass most of the time, k? I do have an exercise equipment in my room (a stationary cycle to be exact), and I try to work out every morning before going to work. But then of course, I don’t think I’ll be reaching my target weight anytime soon. Pfft! Hubby and mom-in-law went rambling again. I had to stay at home to finish the new layout for the Norwegian girl. I told hubby if I am done working on it tomorrow, I’ll go out with him. It’s already 10:41PM though, and Dada looks really hungry…Hope they come home soon since I don’t think he’ll eat dinner til they come. Quite a Busy Weekend…Sunday, September 21st, 2008In-laws and I went to the 8-o’clock morning mass last Friday and roamed for a while in the city. We had to go to the sports-shop near the church to see if they have those nice self-colored t-shirts for hubby since he’ll be needing some to wear underneath (it’s his trademark…ha!). Anyway, the store is not that big, but they sell sports wear, exercise equipment, and sports equipment. We came back home at about 11:30am and I had to go and prepare a nice Friday lunch for the whole family. I made sarsyadong fish fillet separately for mom since she likes it a lot and it’s one of the few dishes she can eat, as well as mixed fried rice and spicy hot prawns (my own recipe kinda) for the rest of us. I finished cooking by almost 3 pm (quite late for lunch, but we usually eat at 2pm so it’s okay) coz I had to clean ‘em prawns and do the dicin’ and slicin’. We didn’t go out at night, but I had to prepare for the Web Design Workshop that was to be held the day after. Saturday started off with the first session of the Web Design Workshop that I had mentioned in an earlier post. Hubby and I arrived at the venue at 8:40am (we usually wake up at 10am during Saturdays) and left place at about 1:20pm. We actually were able to take our afternoon nap but, we decided to go to Farwaniya in the evening just like that. We roamed like crazy ’til 12am and took the opportunity to go to that branch of Alghanim Electronics to see something to get for hubby’s 20kd gift certificate. We browsed for a specific HDMI cable which can connect his PC with older TV model’s that do not have HDMI slots but I don’t think something like that does exist. Poor hubby. Anyway, we came home and finished dinner at 1am (!!!). I’m still feeling groggy. I hate the fact that I had to go to work today…I just want to sleep…Bah! “I promise you the moon…”Sunday, September 21st, 2008“Promise the moon” The said phrase is an English idiom that means “to promise something impossible”. But when it comes to romance and courtship, it usually promising someone the moon pertains to someone (usually the male) promising to do whatever it takes to make the object of that person’s affection happy. But according to this site not only you can promise someone the moon, you can actually fulfill that promise”—well, sort of. It seems that this site gives you an option to buy properties on the moon. Interesting isn’t it? Personally I think it would be a unique and wonderful gift. Just imagine your special someone coming up to you and saying “Remember when I promised you I’d give you the moon? I can’t get you the whole thing, but at least I tried… “ and then handing you a proof of ownership of lunar property. Nyahahah! Awesome! So, what do you think? I think it’s really cool to buy the moon for your loved one! At least some part of it, that is… Transferring mah domain…Friday, September 19th, 2008WEB DESIGN WORKSHOP in KuwaitThursday, September 18th, 2008IT Professionals in Kuwait (ITP-K), of which I had just recently become a member of, is going to conduct a WEB DESIGN WORKSHOP that will be held in the POLO/OWWA office of the Philippine Embassy. 6 sessions, every Saturday, starting this weekend.
