Happy Hearts!February 17th, 2009 / Author: timiToo late for a Valentine’s Day post…but to hell with that. As I had mentioned in my previous blog entries, I became a member of an organization for Filipino IT Professionals here in Kuwait and last Friday was our ITP-K Website Launching and Valentine’s Day Party! Of course Hubby went along (I was kind of worried that he’ll feel left out since I was almost sure he’ll be the only non-Filipino in the party), and we both had fun. Our Labor Attaché was the guest of honor in the event. Aside from the raffle, website launching, and dinner, the election for the 2009 Officers was held as well. I won the raffle (I got a pop-corn popper…I was actually aiming for the home theatre thingie…)…and something really, really, really weird happened: I also won the election. Geez I’m now a board member of this organization that I had just joined in a few months ago…And aside from that web-design seminar, I never, ever attended any of their activities. One of the attendees (a new member) of the web-design seminar nominated me during the election (even if he forgot my name…teh hell!). Gawd! it was embarrassing! And I had to introduce myself to all those people…Gahhhh!!! AWKWARDDDD…As for hubby, he was grinning from ear to ear the whole time…(traitor). Anyway, as I said before, we really enjoyed ourselves—I even made him dance! Wahahahaha! We woke up quite late on Valentines Day itself (as late as we usually do on Saturdays). Hubby took me to an continental restaurant and we had our lunch over there. Somehow, we found ourselves too sleepy to go roaming afterwards, so we decided to go home and take a nap. When we woke up, we found ourselves still too full to go to dinner so we just went roaming instead and then straight to a coffee house. Hubby apologized that he failed to get me tulips (he actually had people looking for them poor boy), the only thing I kept on asking him to give me….THANKS ANYWAY, MI AMORE! YOU DO SPOIL ME ROTTEN! (And no, you cannot buy me that necklace…) I MARRIED ONE OF ‘EM LAST DECENT ONES… Hubby started a blog again!!!February 12th, 2009 / Author: timiNew LayoutFebruary 11th, 2009 / Author: timi9 + 1February 9th, 2009 / Author: timiI apologize to all the people who had tagged me, but this one is something that would really drain me of my mental powers (which I didn’t have much to spare these past few days/weeks, mind you). Anyway, now that I had some time to recuperate…here goes… rule: you have to write 10 things about yourself: 9 are facts, 1 made-up crap… I guess yar readers have to guess which one of the items in yar list is not true. Hmm….tricky, tricky… Let’s go… 1. Math was my favorite subject. I’ve always represented my school for Math Olympiad during my elementary days and yes, I won a couple of golds. However, I never got the chance to compete during my high school days, most of the inter-city tournament champions became my schoolmates…and believe me, they are a WHOLE LOT better than me…(darn science high schools). 2. Despite of item #2, I failed calculus in college twice. 3. One time, when I was in highschool, my teacher asked me “What do you think the main character was feeling? If you were the main character, what would you do if your mother had gone insane?”… I answered, “I can’t relate ma’am, I never really had a ‘mother’.” 4. If ever I get tired of the IT field, I am considering the option of going to a cooking school and fulfill my dream of becoming a famous chef. 5. I have the tendency to swear like a sailor…only in front of selected people though, to whom those I am really comfortable with. And when I say, swear like a sailor, I meant foul words shooting out of my mouth like bullets from an m-16 that can leave any listener more than scandalized. 6. I believe that I am not psychologically stable….so much that I love reading about psychological illnesses and doing self-analysis on myself. So you think I’m weird huh? Well…I think so too 7. I had stalked all my crushes…Either am so good or I’m not just the type that people really pay attention to, because they never noticed. Har. Har. Har. 8. I really hate to go shopping alone. When I was still in the Philippines, I either drag my aunt, my niece, my sister, and even our neighbor’s maid just so there is someone with me. I don’t care if I had to treat them for lunch or dinner or wotever. 9. When I was in 5th grade (?), I sometimes wished I was a vampire…a good one though…sorta like a vampie that kills evil people. And about the drinking-human-blood thing? Can’t be helped, it’s an occupational hazard….Told you am sick in the head… (See item no. 6) 10. I am a fast-reader. And when I say fast, I can read a 400-page book in just 3 hours. Hokey, am done. Bena, Mitch, Gagay, Vicky, Pu Niao …It’s yar turn! InsertapropertitlehereFebruary 8th, 2009 / Author: timiThinking a proper title to go with your post every-single-*toot*ing-time can be such a pain. And since I am already in pain, I am not in the mood to waste my time on one silly title of which people won’t really be paying attention to. Now that we got that part over with, it’s time for my not-so-interesting narrative about anything and everything I could think of right now. Anyway, big thanks to all the people who expressed their concern about the problem I am having with my teeth. Teeth are not aching that much anymore, but I still have to take ‘em damn antibiotics for the infection. I feel bilious and weak…Ack! Disgusting! In addition to that, hubby is sick. AGAIN. And if he’s got teh cold, I will get it too eventually. At times like these, I wish we have a maid, at least someone will take care of the house when we’re both “indisposed”. I mean, come on! Don’t ya’ll wanna be pampered when yar sick? Well, fine, at least we need someone to cook us something decent…But then again there’s just the two of us here at home. Personally, I don’t believe that we really need to hire a maid right now despite of the fact we’re both working. I think the problem is that we both do not have close relatives in Kuwait who can come and help us out. As for work, well, everything is going on smoothly…hopefully it’ll stay that way. I’m learning lots of things and am getting paid for it…YEY! Although sometimes I feel that too many things to learn, and too little time for me. Sometimes I even wonder, what if I end up in a situation where I have to make a quick decision on something that I have no experience on? I mean, right now, people are already starting to ask me for my expert opinion and they expect me to have complete knowledge on what I am talking about. What if they need my expert opinion and well, I couldn’t give one? ‘Nuff of that. Thinking about it makes my head ache wahahahaha. I am thinking of starting a “Tagalog” blog—or a “Tag-lish” blog for that matter—-for ranting purposes…WAHAHAHA! Let’s see…I don’t know…Prolly…Maybe? Gah…I need to do something creative. Toinks…February 8th, 2009 / Author: timiOne day in Timi-chan’s office: Designer1: It’s not working!!! Developer1: What is not working? Designer1: This! *shows developer 1* Developer1: It should work! Let me check… Designer: Probably it’s the wrong code… Developer1: Probably it’s the old version…Let me override the files… *After a few minutes* Designer1: It is still not working…Ask her… Developer1: You ask her! Designer1: Why you don’t want to ask her? Developer1: It’s not like that…. Designer1: Ask her! Developer1: Wait! Let me see if I can fix it! Be quiet! *Timi has been listening all along…Developer tries to see what is wrong…still not working* Designer1: It’s already 6 o clock! Ask her! Developer1: One minute! *analyzing the application source code* Designer1: *gets impatient* Miss Timi…it’s not working… Timi: Hmm? Designer1: This! *shows Timi* Timi: *looks at the html code* You pasted the wrong code. TOINKS! *she actually said TOINKS!* Developer1 & Designer1: TOINKS! *Laughing* Guess what is the favorite expression of all the people in the whole department now…TOINKS… Of adopted cats and toothaches…January 31st, 2009 / Author: timiAs I had mentioned before, this family has a custom of feeding ‘em neighborhood street cats every night. Two of these street cats however, had been receiving special treatment eversince we had found them.
Dinner time, and we open our doors to these too little buggers who come and dash towards our bathroom where their dinner is served in two separate plates. They are the only ones allowed to enter our house, the rest we feed outside.
Francesca is Anthony’s adopted elder sister. Actually, he started following her mom around and the two of them eventually took him in as part of the family. Baby (one of our regulars), Francesca’s mother, always leaves her young too early, so she too was left to fend for herself. But both were too small and too weak to be able to survive and they ended up not being able to eat anything because the bigger cats always ate their share. They started getting sick because of this so we all decided to take them home and feed them in the bathroom (Lucy, our resident cat is quite territorial so we had to take them somewhere she wouldn’t go). I’m usually in charge of making food for them but I have been sufferring from this irritating toothache that got my whole right cheek swelling like a ripe peach. Annoying. Actually, it’s my wisdom tooth. It’s been trying to come out for years now and I guess it is what they called “impacted wisdom tooth”…Grr…Problem is I can’t just trust any dentist here…I’ve heard stories about some of them not sterilizing their equiptments…EWWNESS…I hope we have some kind of a free 800 number to dial for, oh I dunno, reliable recommendation for medical clinics, doctors, dentists etc…Wahahaha! Okay, fine, don’t mind me…am just insane…and am terribly hurting… Weekend Rambling…January 26th, 2009 / Author: timiSo we went roaming last Saturday again, as usual, and hubby took me to Salmiya. We really didn’t do anything but go straight to this food-court thingie over there to have our brunch (sorta) since we both woke up very late. And then after that we went to Sultan Centre to see if there are any new stuff that we might be interested in… We went to Eureka too and we saw that they were selling Wii consoles for 99KD (it costs 120KD in other electronic shops). Of course we didn’t buy one even though hubby told me that we could if I really want it (he actually prefers to buy an xbox 360 or ps3 if ever we’d buy another gaming console) but I said no. Even though I want it so bad, 99KD is still a lot of money and I told him I’d feel guilty. We went straight to Kuwait City instead of home after Salmiya and went to Alghanim Electronics over there to drool on ‘em game consoles. Of course hubby was more interested in PDAs and he started bugging me about buying me a one (he wanted to buy me one for Christmas). And so we went home with this:
An HTC Touch Cruise. The bugger is actually happier than me… Hokeyyyy…January 21st, 2009 / Author: timiSo what have I been doing the past few days that I had failed to update my blog? Just plain ol’ (yet very stressful) officework. We have three projects that has the same deadline (which is 25th of January) and all are like…oh I dunno, only half-way done? It seems that all had been signed long ago but client approvals were all delayed (I would like to stress the phrase “It seems”…), so much so that we were left two weeks to finish each project (out of err…3 month timeline – each?)…and don’t ask me why clients are not giving us extensions… theyallfoundloopholeseverywherelalalala On a cheeful note, after 4 months, I had finally reached my PLURK NIRVANA…I can finally use the ninja smiley wahahaha…I can be such a lamer… Hmmmm wot else…ok…random nonsense: 1. I am planning to take a break from wearing contact lenses and wear my eyeglasses to work tomorrow. 2. Tomorrow night is rambling night…I wonder where hubby will take me? 3. I still want to play ‘em games dammit, but I’m starting to feel sleepyyyyyyy… 4. I dun wanna go to work tomorrow…but I really have to 5. I dozzzzed off just now. Better go to bed… |

This is Anthony. We found him during the feast of St. Anthony when he was just a few days old crying his lungs out at the path behind our house.
